Cookie Policy
In effect from 2 August 2026
This policy lists every cookie Encoded Agency sets on this website, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to refuse or remove it.
Short version: necessary cookies always run, analytics and advertising cookies only run if you accept them, and “Cookie settings” in the footer reverses that decision at any time.
2.Our approach
- Strictly necessary cookies run without consent. They are required for the site to function and for us to keep it secure.
- Analytics and advertising cookies run only after you accept them. They are blocked until you do, and refusing is one click, in the same place, as accepting.
- You can change your mind at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page.
- No banner means no such cookies. When we have no analytics or advertising tool switched on, the site sets none and does not interrupt you to ask about cookies that do not exist.
Refusing analytics and advertising cookies costs you nothing. Every page, form and contact route works exactly the same.
3.Strictly necessary
These cannot be switched off, because without them the site cannot do what you asked it to.
| Name and type | Purpose and lifetime |
|---|---|
| ea-cookie-consent — local storage, set by us | Remembers the cookie choice you made, so you are not asked again. Kept until you clear it or the categories change. No identifier, no tracking value. |
| Hosting and security — set by our hosting provider | Routes requests, protects against abuse, and keeps request logs. Session-length or short-lived. See our Privacy Policy for how log data is handled. |
4.Analytics — only with your consent
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and where they leave. We use it in aggregate, with IP anonymisation on, to make the site better — not to identify you.
| Cookie | Purpose and lifetime |
|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes one browser from another. 2 years. |
| _ga_<container-id> | Keeps session state for Google Analytics 4. 2 years. |
| _gid | Distinguishes browsers within a day, where set. 24 hours. |
Google processes this data outside the UAE. See Google's privacy policy and the safeguards described under “Transfers outside the UAE” in our Privacy Policy.
5.Advertising — only with your consent
We use the Meta pixel to measure whether an advert brought you here, and to show our adverts to people on Facebook and Instagram. If you refuse, you may still see our adverts — they are simply not measured or targeted using your visit.
| Cookie | Purpose and lifetime |
|---|---|
| _fbp | Identifies a browser for advertising measurement. 3 months. |
| fr | Set on Meta's own domain for advert delivery and measurement. 3 months. |
Meta processes this data outside the UAE. See Meta's privacy policy, and control what you are shown in your Meta ad preferences.
6.Changing or withdrawing your choice
On this site
Open Cookie settings in the footer. Switch a category off and save, and the scripts behind it stop loading immediately. Any cookie already set by that vendor stops being renewed and expires on the schedule above; clearing your browser cookies removes it now.
In your browser
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, including third-party ones, in its privacy settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of this and other sites working.
At the source
- Google Analytics — browser opt-out add-on.
- Meta — ad preferences.
7.Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Browsers send these signals inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for honouring them. We therefore do not rely on them, and use the choice you make on the banner instead — which is explicit, recorded, and reversible.
8.Cookies on sites we build
Websites we build and host for clients set their own cookies, decided by that client. This policy does not cover them. Each of those sites carries its own cookie notice, and the client is responsible for its accuracy.
9.Changes to this policy
When we add or remove a tool that sets cookies, we update this page and reset consent, so you are asked again rather than opted in to something you never agreed to. The date at the top shows the current version.
10.Contact
Questions about cookies, or about a specific cookie you have found on this site, go to legal@encodedagency.com. We answer within 30 days, and usually much sooner.
